Artiano and Romero Win Age Discrimination Suit
April 20, 2009
Partner Ray Artiano and Associate Richard Romero obtained a defense verdict for their client, San Diego Community College District. Plaintiff Schwartz sued the District claiming, among other things, age discrimination. Mr. Artiano and Mr. Romero were successful in having all of Plaintiff's other causes of action dismissed on demurrer, and the trial proceeded only as to a claim of age discrimination. The jury did not believe that age discrimination had occurred, and found that the District's reason for not assigning Plaintiff Aviation Operation classes was legitimate and non-discriminatory. The jury deliberated for under two hours and rendered a defense verdict
