Hoover Wins Defense Decision Under the Nevada Mandatory Arbitration Program.

Lara Hoover, partner, successfully obtained a defense decision within the mandatory arbitration program in Nevada for her client, the owner of an apartment complex. Plaintiff alleged that the apartment complex's security officer assaulted him and that the apartment complex was responsible under the theory of respondeat superior. Plaintiff was a former resident that had been evicted, yet continued to trespass onto property. When the security guard tried to escort him off the premises, Plaintiff alleged an assault occurred. Based on the credibility of the witnesses and a lack of damages, the Arbitrator awarded in the defense's favor.
