May 20, 2005
Ray Artiano and Ljubisa Kostic conducted a three-hour interactive seminar on March 18, 2005 for college presidents, deans and law enforcement officials at the San Diego Community College District on the impact of the First Amendment. The college officials received a detailed framework for recognizing and handling various issues related to free speech and assembly by students and non-students, and with respect to commercial and non-commercial speech. This seminar included an interactive analysis of hypothetical situations based on real world court cases, as well as a question and answer session regarding issues that have or may arise at various campuses. The District's current policies were also discussed and applied.
